Job summary

RTX is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer Technician for the Pratt & Whitney Asheville site to support FAI development and Continuous Improvement on assigned hardware.

This 2nd shift role (Mon-Thu, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM) collaborates with Cell Leaders, Quality and Engineering to ensure manufacturing compliance, tool design, data collection and process improvement.The position requires an HS Diploma or AA/AS with 4+ years of relevant experience and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge of Aerospace Industry and experience in turbine engine parts manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work in a team problem-solving environment and multi-task effectively.

Responsibilities

• Work with Cell Leaders, Cell Members, Quality and Engineering to ensure manufacturing compliance with tooling, gauges and fixtures.
• Assist in development and construction of manufacturing cells; review tooling requirements and aid in tool designs.
• Order specially designed cutting tools and operating supplies for manufacturing processes; create and maintain standard work.
• Improve current manufacturing processes to reduce costs and increase reliability and control.
• Gather data on non-conformances and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead FAI development and new Process Tryout on the Shop Floor; be the first point of contact for assigned parts and processes.
• Organize and lead Continuous Improvement activities; drive actions to closure.
• Track Product Quality/Cost and provide timely technical support to Operations.
