Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Asheville, NC seeks a Manufacturing Quality Engineer Technician (MQE) to support FAI development and Continuous Improvement on assigned hardware. This 2nd shift (4 pm–2:30 am) role collaborates with Cell Leaders and Quality/Engineering to assure manufacturing compliance and efficient processes.

Responsibilities include leading FAI development, creating standard work, driving root-cause analysis, and supporting operations with timely technical guidance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge of Aerospace Industry and experience in turbine engine parts manufacturing.
• Ability to work in a team problem-solving environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• The MQE will work with Cell Leaders, Cell Members, Quality and Engineering staff to assure manufacturing compliance respective to the use of all existing manufacturing/process equipment, respective gages and fixtures.
• Assist in the development and construction of manufacturing cells. Review tooling requirements and aid in tool designs.
• Lead FAI development and new Process Tryout on the Shop Floor. Be the first point of contact on assigned parts and manufacturing processes.
• Organize and lead Continuous Improvement activities on assigned hardware and drive actions to closure.
• Track Product Quality/Cost and provide technical help to Operations on a timely basis.
