Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to translate engineering intents into manufacturable hardware for test, qualification, and flight. You will craft BOMs, work instructions, and coordinate with Mfg Engineers to drive throughput and quality on the assembly floor.

This role emphasizes process improvement, metric tracking, and cross‑functional teamwork on a premier launch vehicle program, with a focus on safety and repeatable spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar (0-3 years Level I, 3+ Level II, 5+ Level III , 8+ Sr Level).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures, including planning systems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Translating engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
  • Support Mfg Engineers in the use of system tools to execute work orders including disposition of nonconformances, redlining work orders, revising BOM, BOM reconciliation, and GSE/Tooling maintenance and procurement.
  • Providing shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the creation and revision of manufacturing plans to ensure the required information and structure are provided for MRP systems.
  • Maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to reduce build time and improve safety and quality.
