Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL seeks world‑class manufacturing planners to apply engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing processes for aerospace products. You will translate engineering intent into hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting BOMs and work instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures or similar.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
• Support Mfg Engineers in the use of system tools to execute work orders, including disposition of nonconformances, redlining work orders, revising BOM, BOM reconciliation, and GSE/tooling maintenance and procurement.
• Provide shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
• Provide oversight and guidance for the creation and revision of manufacturing plans to ensure the required information and structure are provided for MRP systems.
• Maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to reduce build time and improve safety and quality.
