Job summary

Flytrex is seeking an experienced Assembly & Manufacturing Manager to lead our Pilot Point, TX manufacturing operations for the Flytrex UAS. You will oversee production, assembly, testing, conformity, and quality, while building the team, processes, and production capabilities required to support continued growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in aerospace, UAS, robotics, automotive, or advanced electromechanical manufacturing with leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing and workshop operations, including production planning, workflow, staffing and performance.
• Manage and develop assembly technicians through training, coaching, technical guidance, and performance management.
• Own production execution and ensure aircraft are assembled, tested, documented, and delivered per design and quality requirements.
• Establish and maintain standardized assembly procedures, work instructions, build records, inspections, and traceability.
• Ensure compliance with configuration control, QMS, conformity, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Collaborate with Engineering on NPI, design changes, and transition to repeatable production.
• Provide DFMA feedback to improve quality, reliability, and production efficiency.
• Oversee sub-assembly and final assembly activities across mechanical, electrical, and system integration.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, jigs, workstations, and production processes.
• Maintain production equipment and calibrated tools.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and HQ to maintain component availability and changes.
• Track KPIs: output, cycle time, first-pass yield, defects, rework, on-time delivery.
• Drive safety, quality, workflow efficiency, throughput, and scalability improvements.
• Conduct or oversee final testing, validation, and production readiness prior to delivery.
• Maintain a safe, organized manufacturing environment; handle composites, adhesives, and electrical systems.
• Remain hands-on to support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and investigations.
