Job summary

RTX is seeking an onsite intern/coop in the United States to collaborate with industrial engineers and production staff on improving product flow, quality, and safety. You will design fixtures, program laser and 3D printers, and help implement continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing context.

Candidate should be pursuing an engineering degree with at least 60 credits completed, and have familiarity with SolidWorks, VBA, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM major through the completion of the co-op session.
• Completed at least 60 credit hours prior to the start of the internship/co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Work with Industrial Engineers, production floor operators, and manufacturing staff to resolve issues related to product flow, quality, ergonomics, and safety.
• Develop or improve designs for fixtures or tooling to aid in manufacturing, including building, verifying, and implementing those fixtures using laser machines, 3D printers, and other equipment.
• Identify root causes of manufacturing defects and process inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Program and operate manufacturing equipment such as laser machines and 3D printers to support fixture development.
• Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
