Job summary

RTX is seeking an engineering intern/co-op to own automation project tasks, plan automation projects, and test new technologies on the shop floor. You will drive improvements in production processes through Smart Factory implementations and data-driven dashboards.

Applicants should be pursuing a Mechanical/ Electrical/ Aerospace/ Systems/ Manufacturing Engineering degree, with 30 credits completed and familiarity with SolidWorks or Siemens NX. Onsite work in US facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 30 credit hours completed before start of internship/co-op.
• Strong grounding in engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and Lean principles.
• Experience presenting and using design software such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project tasks and manage time/resources to meet goals and milestones.
• Plan and implement automation capital projects.
• Research, evaluate, and test new technologies to improve quality and productivity on the shop floor.
• Provide engineering guidance to optimize equipment use and manufacturing techniques.
• Integrate automation solutions into factory systems and improve production processes.
• Implement Smart Factory technologies and add digital data acquisition to legacy test equipment.
• Analyze manufacturing data and create dashboards to display metrics for operations teams.
