Job summary

RTX is offering an onsite co-op/internship in Burnsville, MN, focused on advanced manufacturing projects and automation. You will work with engineers to own tasks, plan capital projects, test new technologies, and optimize production processes on the shop floor.

The role provides exposure to aerospace manufacturing, IIoT, and Smart Factory initiatives, with opportunities to develop data-driven dashboards and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Manufacturing Engineering through internship/co-op.
• Earned a minimum of 30 credit hours prior to start.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and Lean concepts.
• Experience delivering presentations and using design software such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project tasks and manage time/resources to meet goals.
• Plan and implement automation capital projects.
• Research, evaluate, and test new technologies to improve quality and productivity on the shop floor.
• Provide engineering guidance to optimize equipment use and manufacturing techniques.
• Integrate automation solutions into factory systems and improve production processes.
• Implement Smart Factory technologies and add digital data acquisition to legacy test equipment.
• Analyze manufacturing data and create dashboards to display metrics for operations teams.
