Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, Florida is seeking an Engineering Co‑Op– Manufacturing Operations (MFG‑Ops) to gain hands‑on experience supporting the production of Collins Aerospace products. You will work with manufacturing and test engineers to improve processes and data‑driven performance.

As an Engineering Co‑Op you will develop data‑collection tools, analyze equipment reliability, and assist with capacity planning, ROI analyses, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related STEM and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Previous experience with basic statistics and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with data analysis, automation, or engineering software such as Python, MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate data-collection tools; perform root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions for test processes.
• Analyze and improve test equipment performance and reliability; reduce downtime and costs.
• Support capacity planning and ROI analyses; optimize staffing, production, and capital investments.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and training; resolve production issues including Manufacturing Flow Inhibitors (MFIs).
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to address component obsolescence and manage changes and test documentation.
