Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, Florida, is seeking an Engineering Co-Op in Manufacturing Operations to join our team. You will work with Manufacturing and Test Engineers to support production of Collins Aerospace products, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, production testing, test equipment reliability, data analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

As a co-op, you will develop data-collection tools, analyze test equipment performance, support capacity

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related STEM and enrolled through the internship/co-op.
Experience with basic statistics and SPC.
Experience with data analysis, automation, or engineering software such as Python, MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and automate data-collection tools, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve test processes.
Analyze and enhance test equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency while reducing downtime and costs.
Support capacity planning, ROI analysis, and evaluate test approaches to optimize staffing, production, and capital investments.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting, training, and resolving production issues, including Manufacturing Flow Inhibitors (MFIs).
Collaborate with Design Engineering to address component obsolescence and maintain test documentation.
