Job summary

BARNES is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform final, in-process, and incoming inspections on aerospace engine parts. You will create and edit PC-DMIS programs and verify dimensional and visual measurements with CMMs and traditional gaging.

You must read blueprints and specifications, apply geometric tolerancing, and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace or general manufacturing.
• Proficient in PC-DMIS with ability to read, write and correlate programs.
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in aerospace.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and customer specifications.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts and components.
• Create, edit and correlate PC-DMIS programs using a solid model and print.
• Inspection includes visual and dimensional using a CMM and hard gaging.
• Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to confirm parts meet criteria.
• Ensure all parts meet customer criteria.
• Process paperwork for defective or re-worked parts.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.
• Familiar with building and calibrating hard gages is a plus.
