Job summary

Barnes Aerospace East Hartford is seeking an experienced inspector with 5+ years in aerospace/manufacturing. You will perform final and in-process inspections, create and edit PC-DMIS programs, and verify measurements with a CMM and hard gages. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills are required.

You will interpret operation sheets and blueprints to ensure parts meet customer criteria, document nonconformances, and may work overtime based on workload. Familiarity with hard gaging is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace or general manufacturing.
• Proficient with PC-DMIS and reading/correlating programs.
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in aerospace.
• Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and customer specs.
• Able to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, hand gages, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Background in manufacturing with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with incoming, in-process, and final inspections.

Responsibilities

• Final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts.
• Create, edit, and correlate PC-DMIS programs from solid model/print.
• Visual and dimensional inspection using a CMM; verify measurements with hard gaging.
• Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to confirm customer criteria.
• Ensure parts meet customer criteria; document nonconformances as needed.
• If defective, process required paperwork.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.
• Familiarity with building/calibrating hard gaging is a plus.
