Job summary

BARNES is seeking an experienced inspector to perform final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts and components. You will use a CMM and hard gaging to verify dimensions and visuals, ensuring parts meet stringent customer specifications.

You will create, edit and correlate PC‑DMIS programs from solid models and prints, interpret blueprints and operation sheets, and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Ability to read, write and correlate PC‑DMIS programs.
• Dimensional and visual inspection experience in aerospace.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical docs, and specs.
• Work independently and solve problems with minimal assistance.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and measurement tools.
• Strong manufacturing background; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with incoming, in-process, and final inspections.

Responsibilities

• Final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts and components.
• Create, edit and correlate PC‑DMIS programs from solid models and prints.
• Perform visual and dimensional verification using a CMM and hard gaging.
• Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to ensure acceptance criteria.
• Ensure parts meet customer criteria; document any rework requirements.
• Oversight of overtime as needed by business needs.
• Experience building and calibrating hard gaging is a plus.
