Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine LLC in Carson City, NV is seeking a Grinding Machinist for 2nd shift to machine, repair, and finish aerospace components to precise specs. You will operate CNC and manual grinders, inspect parts, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

The role offers a Monday-Friday schedule with potential variation, a shift differential of $1–$3 per hour, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates must read blueprints and GD&T, use precision tools, and maintain a safe work area.

Qualifications

• Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating grinding equipment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual grinding equipment.
• Machine and repair precision aerospace components to close tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, and other precision measuring tools.
• Change tooling and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and complete inspection documentation.
• Operate overhead cranes and safely handle parts and materials.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
