Job summary

Chromalloy Carson City is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate and repair critical aerospace components with tight tolerances.

Qualifications

Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
Proficient with precision measurement tools.
Strong math, mechanical, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently with high quality standards.
Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
Manufacture and repair precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, technical drawings, and specifications.
Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials for machining operations.
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, pi tapes, and other precision measuring tools.
Change tooling and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
Perform complex machine setups with minimal supervision.
Complete required inspection and production documentation.
Perform routine machine maintenance and safely operate overhead cranes.
Troubleshoot machining issues and support process improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
