Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring an entry-level Flight Control Systems Engineer to contribute to AFCS product development for commercial, regional, and military aircraft. You''ll work on control algorithms, system requirements, and verification activities to support certification and safe, reliable flight control systems.

This onsite role requires a STEM degree and familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus; relocation eligibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent STEM major.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems.
• Define and review system requirements for flight control systems including functional and interface requirements.
• Develop models and simulation tools for closed-loop systems to assess performance.
• Conduct system verification and validation of control algorithms and interfaces.
• Support product certification at ARP4754A/B and DO-178B/C levels.
