Job summary

Collins Aerospace invites students to join our Cedar Rapids team for hands-on experience in aerospace control systems. You will work on flight control algorithms, modeling, and verification under supervision, contributing to real-world aerospace projects.

The program emphasizes data analysis, system integration, and collaboration across engineering disciplines, with opportunities to learn from senior engineers and gain exposure to certification processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or STEM and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink preferred.
• Knowledge of control systems theory and aviation knowledge may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems.
• Define and review system requirements for flight control systems including functional and interface requirements.
• Develop models and simulation tools for closed-loop systems to assess performance.
• Conduct system verification and validation of the control algorithms and requirements.
• Support product certification with ARP4754A/B and DO-178B/C compliant processes.
