Job Overview
Collins Aerospace seeks a Flammability Certification Engineer to lead FAA certification processes for commercial aircraft seats and seating components. This onsite role focuses on ensuring that our seating products meet and exceed the highest safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead research, planning, and execution of FAA certification for aircraft seats and seating components.
- Drive standard engineering assignments and design decisions, providing technical ownership.
- Conduct internal technical and design reviews, representing the Flammability Certification team.
- Compile and submit FAA certification documentation to commercial OEMs and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Degree in STEM (mechanical, aeronautical, civil, chemical, textile, or related engineering) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
- U.S. Person required due to ITAR/EAR restrictions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering and cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of FAA, EASA rules and regulations, policy memos, and guidance materials for aircraft seat certification.
- Experience with TC, STC, PMA, or TSO certification processes.
- Experience with materials and processes used in aircraft interiors design.
- Prior working experience in the aerospace industry, specifically aircraft interiors.
- Experience reviewing and approving drawings.
- Proficiency in engineering‑related software programs.

Salary Range
$68,900 - $131,100 USD.
