Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE, Ogden Division is seeking an Expander to support manufacturing operations on the 3rd shift (10pm–7:30am, Mon–Fri). The candidate should be self-driven, detail oriented, and capable of working safely around chemicals and high temperatures while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities include reading station plans, setting up expander and finishing operations, measuring parts, recording data, and collaborating with engineering for issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ work experience inspecting production parts using blue prints or gages
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
• Working knowledge of basic inspection equipment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledgeable in metal finishing

Responsibilities

• Read and understand station plans, standard work, or other instructions before performing work
• Set up and operate expander and metal finishing equipment
• Measure first part and continue balance of work order
• Re-adjust setup based on first strike results to ensure quality parts
• Troubleshoot parts to meet blue print requirements and consult engineering when needed
• Record inputs and operator charge time accurately
