Job summary

RTX’s Pratt & Whitney division seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the Vapor Phase Aluminide coating cell on the Asheville, NC production floor, providing real-time technical support and rapid response to quality issues.

4–8 years of coating experience in manufacturing, strong data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration are required to lead investigations and implement corrective actions for improved yield and equipment utilization.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree with 4–8 years' relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting coating processes in a production setting is strongly preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to information.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support to production within the VPA Coating Cell.
• Respond rapidly to quality issues and work stoppages on the production floor.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process interruptions to maintain continuous part flow.
• Provide real-time technical support to operators and operation leaders during production shifts.
• Coordinate with quality, maintenance, EH&S, and engineering teams to rapidly contain and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Lead or support root cause investigations for production issues and yield losses.
• Support implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime and improve yield.
