Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines, is seeking an experienced coatings engineer to drive development and optimization of aerospace coatings and related technologies. You will work within cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and advance coating programs across Defense and commercial programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, management, and external customers, with opportunities to interface with AFRL, DOD, DOE, and NASA.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field.
• Advanced degree in related field with 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of aerospace coating application methods and process optimization tools.
• US citizenship required; travel roughly 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead development programs for coatings and related technologies to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines and manufacturing as part of an Integrated Product Team.
• Develop next generation coatings with unique capabilities for targeted applications.
• Interface with DoD, AFRL, NASA and other customers to pursue and execute contracts.
• Manage projects, secure funding, and update standard work.
