Job summary

DarkAero is seeking a CNC Programmer / Operator to support fabrication of precision aerospace components. This on-site role collaborates with engineering to develop efficient machining processes for prototypes and low-volume production.

You will program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes, develop CAM routines, read GD&T, and ensure part conformity with high tolerance standards in a fast-moving R&D environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CNC machining in prototype, job shop, or production.
• Experience programming CNC machines using CAM software.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, setup, tooling, and workholding.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and blueprints.
• Experience editing or troubleshooting CNC programs and G-code.
• Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
• Experience inspecting precision machined components.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
• Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
• Read and interpret drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and specs.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters for various materials.
• Perform first-article inspections and verify parts with precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve quality and cycle times.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability and processes.
• Assist in designing fixtures, jigs, and prototype tooling.
• Maintain machines, organize tooling, and ensure a clean shop environment.
• Support prototype development and low-volume production needs.
