Job summary

Apera is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Programmer to support machining operations for precision aerospace components on-site. You will develop and optimize CNC programs, create complete machining processes, and lead setup and tooling decisions to ensure quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include first article support, troubleshooting on the shop floor, and collaborating with operators and cross-functional teams to drive production success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years CNC programming experience in manufacturing.
• Strong milling experience; 5-axis a plus.
• Proficiency with CAM software (Esprit preferred).
• Ability to manually edit/write CNC programs (G-code).
• Solid understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and processes.
• Experience setting up fixturing and machining strategies.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Good problem-solving skills and independence.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
• Create complete machining processes including setup, fixturing, tooling, and sequencing.
• Select cutting tools and determine speeds/feeds for materials.
• Generate setup sheets, tool lists, and clear instructions.
• Support first article runs and troubleshoot on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with operators and cross-functional teams for production success.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve quality.
