Job summary

Applied Aerospace & Defense is seeking a CNC Programmer to translate engineering drawings and 3D models into safe, repeatable machining processes. You will develop, prove-out, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines, collaborating with Machinists, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure production meets quality and cycle-time targets.

The role requires strong CAD/CAM, G-code/M-code skills, and experience with aerospace materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive CNC machining and/or CNC programming experience.
• Experience with 3-axis CNC machining required; multi-axis programming preferred.
• Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and GD&T.
• Ability to read, troubleshoot, and modify G-code and M-code.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, modify, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T to determine machining strategies.
• Develop toolpaths, select tooling, and determine speeds and feeds.
• Create setup sheets and documentation for repeatable production.
• Support first-part prove-out and production adjustments.
