Job summary

Hoppe Technologies, Inc. in Chicopee, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and mill-turn machines. The role focuses on aerospace and defense components with strict quality requirements.

You will read drawings, edit basic programs, perform in-process inspection, and ensure precise tolerances. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of CNC experience, familiar with Mazak/Matsuura machines, and can work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of CNC setup and operation in a machine shop.
• High School Diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• Strong reading of drawings and geometric tolerancing.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run and produce quality parts on CNC milling and mill-turn machines.
• Load/unload parts, operate controls, perform basic program edits, deburr parts.
• Change tooling and reset tool offsets.
• Inspect in-process and finished parts using gauges and drawings.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and communicate with supervisor on issues.
