Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Machinist to produce precision aerospace components using CNC and manual machining equipment. You will read blueprints, set up fixtures, and ensure strict tolerances while supporting quality and reliability of aviation hardware.

Prior machining experience is preferred, but strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality are encouraged to apply. The role operates on the 2nd shift with a $1–$3 shift differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Basic to intermediate math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and think critically.
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• English reading/writing and communication proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machine tools, including grinding and milling equipment, to manufacture precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Set up and secure fixtures, tooling, accessories, and materials on machining equipment.
• Monitor machining operations and adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed.
• Perform dimensional inspections with micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and tapes.
• Maintain tolerances and high quality throughout production.
• Replace cutting tools and perform routine machine maintenance.
• Complete inspection and production documentation accurately.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and keep work area organized.
• Collaborate with teammates and supervisors to meet production and quality goals.
