Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Machinist for 2nd shift to operate CNC and manual machines, fabricate and repair precision components, and interpret complex blueprints with tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong detail orientation, safety consciousness, and teamwork to maintain quality and efficiency.

The role requires experience reading blueprints and GD&T, plus proficiency with precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade school certificate or specialized education in machining is preferred.
• Previous experience operating CNC and/or manual machinery is valued but not required for entry-level applicants.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, working within tight tolerances.
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups, procedures, and optimal machining sequences.
• Apply knowledge of GD&T to ensure product conformity.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
• Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tool offsets to maintain high-quality production.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Operate overhead cranes safely to handle materials and parts.
• Maintain accurate inspection documentation and production records.
• Communicate effectively within a team and with supervisors to meet priorities.
