Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc (AMA) seeks a part-time CAD Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley. You will create CAD models in .igs/.stp and native CAD formats for rapid prototype fabrication.

The role involves modeling oscillation configurations, mounting interface design, and a movable center of gravity for wind tunnel testing. Onsite work at NASA Langley is required; ideal candidates are mechanical or aerospace engineering students with CAD

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 2 years of CAD modeling experience or 2 CAD coursework semesters.
• Experience with .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

• Develop models in .igs, .stp, and native CAD formats for rapid prototype fabrication.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with proper mounting interfaces.
• Design geometry to accommodate thermal inset fasteners for mounting to the balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing or similar methods.
• Design models to enable a movable center of gravity.
