Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc (AMA) seeks a part-time CAD Modeling Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. You will develop CAD models (.igs/.stp) and native formats for oscillation configurations, enabling rapid prototype fabrication and movable center of gravity tests.

The role requires an undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with CAD experience and onsite work at NASA Langley.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 2 years CAD modeling experience or 2 semesters of CAD coursework.
• Experience with .igs or .stp and related CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

• Develop models in .igs or .stp formats and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting references.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners for mounting to the balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing or similar.
• Ensure models allow a movable center of gravity.
