Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) seeks a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. You will develop CAD models (.igs, .stp) and native CAD files for oscillation configurations and rapid prototype fabrication, with a movable center of gravity.

Ideal candidates are undergraduate or graduate students in mechanical or aerospace engineering with at least two CAD courses or two years of CAD experience, and the ability to

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum of two years' CAD modeling experience or two CAD courses.
• Experience with .igs or .stp files and native CAD formats.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models in .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with reference points.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners for mounting to a balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using 3D printing.
• Design models to enable a movable center of gravity.
