Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates is seeking a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. The intern will develop models in .igs/.stp and native CAD formats for rapid prototype fabrication and validation data.

Responsibilities include creating CAD models for oscillation configurations, mounting interfaces, and wind tunnel models, with a movable center of gravity as a design goal. Onsite work at NASA Langley is required.

Qualifications

• Undergrad or grad student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 2 years' CAD model development or 2 CAD coursework semesters.
• Experience with .igs or .stp, and native CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models in .igs/.stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting interfaces.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners for balance sting mounting.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing or similar.
• Design models enabling a movable center of gravity.
