Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc (AMA) is seeking a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. The CAD Model Design Intern will support the Entry Systems Modeling project to develop free flight and forced oscillation model design for rapid prototype fabrication.

Responsibilities include creating CAD models in .igs/.stp, designing oscillation configurations, and enabling a movable center of gravity, with 3D printing for

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years' CAD modeling experience or two CAD coursework semesters.
• Experience with .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models in .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting interfaces.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners for mounting to balance sting.
• Create CAD solid models for wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing methods.
• Design models to enable a movable center of gravity.
