Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent with business/procurement focus; entry-level.
• Knowledge of purchasing methods and general business operations.
• Understanding of regulatory procurement requirements.
• Understanding of continuous improvement techniques.
• Ability to use standard business software and procurement systems (EDI, MRP).
• Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
• Ability to work with minimal direction and set priorities.
• Ability to read and interpret financial reports.
• Ability to negotiate to obtain best price and terms.
• Ability to contribute to team goals and development.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recommend suppliers by researching parts, equipment, and materials.
• Conduct supplier visits and evaluate production capability and delivery performance.
• Prepare RFQs and issue purchase orders with approved suppliers; maintain lead times.
• Evaluate bids and select suppliers for cost-effective items; negotiate terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and flag potential failures affecting production.
• Resolve shipment quality discrepancies and coordinate between suppliers and company.
• Negotiate damage claims and changes with suppliers.
• Provide parts and materials information and generate reports on trends.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities for cost reduction and efficiency.
