Job summary

Parker Aerospace’s Exotic Metals Forming Division seeks a Buyer (Aerospace) to manage supplier orders and follow-up to ensure on-time delivery of purchased materials, tooling and equipment. The role emphasizes building supplier relationships and maintaining compliant procurement processes.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in business or technology, at least two years in procurement, ERP experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills. Aerospace experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or technology required.
• Minimum two years of procurement experience.
• Experience with integrated manufacturing systems (ERP) to schedule production requirements.
• Manufacturing experience in a high-volume, low-mix environment.
• Proven ability to demonstrate good judgement and make effective decisions based on facts.
• Experience negotiating claims and resolving disputes with suppliers.
• Aerospace industry experience and ISM/NAPM/NCMA certification desirable.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials, supplies, and equipment following policies while optimizing price, delivery, and terms.
• Communicate specifications, identify qualified suppliers, issue RFQs and implement procurement actions.
• Negotiate with suppliers for price, delivery, and quality.
• Act as a liaison between supplier and internal customers.
• Release purchase orders, follow up, and expedite as needed; maintain procurement records.
• Prepare and edit purchase orders and bid requests; match receiving tickets with POs.
• Foster and maintain positive supplier relationships; ensure compliance in procurement transactions.
• Ensure supplier performance aligns with quality, cost, and schedule goals.
