Job summary

Astronics PECO in Clackamas, Oregon seeks a Buyer/Planner I to support production by managing purchase orders, conducting MRP analysis, and coordinating with Engineering and Production to keep BOMs accurate and material availability high.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, strong Excel skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and related experience considered.
• Some experience in production purchasing and/or manufacturing planning in a job shop/OEM or similar environment preferred.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and how they are used to manage inventory, plan production and minimize downtime.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas), Word, and presentation software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor purchase orders and procure materials to support production plans.
• Perform routine MRP analysis to support forecast and customer requirements; ensure material availability.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and communicate quality and documentation requirements.
• Monitor material levels and provide basic reports on material status, shortages, and schedule adherence.
• Resolve material shortage issues; identify, elevate and mitigate potential parts shortages.
• Provide input on supplier performance evaluation and ensure items are purchased from approved sources.
