Job summary

Astronics CSC in Waukegan, IL is seeking an experienced Production Planner / Scheduler / Analyst to manage complex production schedules and supplier coordination. You will develop and maintain schedules, monitor material availability, and proactively identify scheduling risks using ERP data.

The ideal candidate has deep ERP experience (MRP, BOM, work orders), strong analytical skills, and the ability to balance priorities in a multi-level bill-of-material environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials analysis in aerospace/defense/manufacturing
• ERP system mastery (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor) with strong MRP, BOM, and WO processing
• Experience managing schedules with long lead-time and constrained materials
• Advanced Excel skills; BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau a plus
• Experience in AS9100 / ISO 9001 environment preferred
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and material flow
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules for complex assemblies
• Monitor schedules around long lead-time parts and flag delivery risks
• Analyze material requirements and coordinate with purchasing for timely availability
• Build and maintain BOMs, routings, and work orders in ERP
• Run MRP/capacity reports and adjust schedules for priorities or changes
• Collaborate across production, quality, engineering, and procurement to resolve conflicts
• Track work orders and report schedule adherence and KPIs
• Identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions
• Support S&OP with capacity and lead-time analysis
• Maintain ERP data integrity including item master data and lead times
• Generate reports and dashboards for leadership
• Support continuous improvement in planning and inventory flow
• Assist in developing planning processes and tools
