Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial in Wichita, KS is seeking a Buyer/Planner to keep aerospace production on track by ensuring critical materials, tools, and aircraft parts are available when needed. You will source, expedite, and manage inventory while coordinating with suppliers and production teams to resolve shortages.

The role requires 3+ years in aviation or purchasing, strong planning and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Typically 3+ years of experience in aviation, materials management, or purchasing.
• Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of inventory planning and procurement.
• Familiarity with aircraft parts and repair station inventory processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business applications.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, tools, and components from internal and external suppliers.
• Expedite purchase orders and monitor material deliveries to support production schedules.
• Prioritize critical material needs and maintain shortage reports.
• Create internal orders and manage inventory documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and management to resolve material shortages.
• Order and replenish materials, tools, and ground support equipment.
• Identify alternate and superseded part numbers to maintain material availability.
• Represent the department in meetings and communicate material status updates.
