Job summary

PLI Manufacturing, a division of Phoenix Defense, seeks a Buyer I to support procurement of raw materials and components for aerospace/defense projects. You will issue POs, track pricing, and coordinate with PMs and production teams to keep schedules on track.

The role requires 2–4 years in purchasing/inventory, ERP/MRP experience (Visual preferred) and strong communication skills. Benefits include 401K and comprehensive insurance; on-site work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years purchasing and inventory experience; government/military procurement valued.
• Experience with ERP/MRP software (Visual) and MS Office.
• Strong communication, problem solving, organizing and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders to suppliers for raw material and components.
• Ensure PO pricing is recorded in compliance with procedures.
• Communicate daily status updates for Program Managers, Production Control and Program Planners.
• AS9100 quality compliance: work with Quality to ensure suppliers meet on-time delivery and quality; release POs only to qualified suppliers per the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
• Follow up and expedite delivery dates to support the production plan.
• Manage supplier-related issues daily.
• Administrative support: coordinate with PMs, Production Control and Accounting on materials issues and returns.
• Perform additional duties as requested by manager to support procurement activities.
