Pratt & Whitney in Wells, Maine is hiring a Bench Mechanic for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-11:30pm). You will perform coating-related prep and finishing tasks on aerospace engine components, with training provided on dayshift for external candidates.

The role requires 0-1 years of related experience and a high school diploma or GED. You will work onsite, perform precision measurements, and contribute to process improvements and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Training occurs on dayshift for external candidates

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations from verbal, written or computer-generated instructions
• Surface preparation and masking duties
• Post coating tasks including removing parts from fixtures and removing masking
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning equipment
• Perform minor repairs on coating equipment
• Deburring, blending, polishing, grinding, drilling or grit blasting on aerospace components
• Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment
• Check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements with measuring tools
• Remove burrs, nicks, and scratches from parts
• Assist engineers in developing new or changed operations
• Recommend changes to operating parameters and processes
• Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor
