Pratt & Whitney, located in Wells, ME, is seeking a bench mechanic for the second shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm-1:30am). The role involves surface prep, masking, post-coating tasks, and minor repairs on coating equipment.

Responsibilities include deburring and precision finishing of aerospace components, using hand and power tools, and ensuring parts meet strict visual and dimensional standards with precision instruments. Flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field.
• High School or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations including surface preparation and masking.
• Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures and masking and troubleshooting equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on coating equipment.
• Deburr, blend, polish, countersink, grind, drill or grit blast aerospace components.
• Check parts meet visual and dimensional requirements using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and fixtures.
• Support engineers in developing new or changed operations and suggest process improvements.
• Maintain flexibility around shifts and overtime to support workflow.
