Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, offers an Aero Thermal Fluids Internship at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford. You will work with engineers to analyze lubrication-system designs in jet engines and gain experience with multi-physics simulations.

You will perform CFD and heat-transfer studies, write small analysis codes in Python, review results with cross‑functional teams, and help advance lubrication-system concepts for both commercial and military applications.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
• Experience with CFD, heat transfer, or system analysis.
• Experience writing codes using Python or similar.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CFD or heat transfer analysis to evaluate lubrication system designs.
• Analyze multi-physics phenomena to assess system performance.
• Write small codes to analyze flow and energy transfer systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to review results.
• Contribute to advancement of lubrication system designs for jet engines.
• Support evaluation of two‑phase flow and its impact on performance.
• Document findings and present results to stakeholders.
