Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) located in East Hartford, CT, is seeking an Aero Propulsion Systems Intern to join the Pratt & Whitney ATF team. You will perform aerodynamic and thermal analyses to support engine development and coordinate data-driven design decisions across aero, design, and structures teams.

The internship requires pursuing a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and familiarity with CFD tools such as Fluent, Star-CCM+, or CharLES.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field and actively enrolled through the completion of the intern session.
• Experience with CFD tools (Fluent, Star-CCM+, CharLES) or similar.
• Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic and thermal analyses in support of aircraft engine and technology development
• Process analytical and rig/engine test data to inform design decisions and root cause analyses
• Coordinate analyses, review with subject matter experts, and communicate results as part of a cross-discipline team (aero, design, structures)
