Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking a Foreperson to coordinate crew, equipment, and supplies to complete jobs per contract specifications, safely and efficiently.

You will oversee the Aerial Bucket truck operations, trimming or removing trees near power lines, ensure OSHA compliance, and read contracts. Three years in vegetation management and a valid driver's license required; travel may be needed for storm work.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Meets and demonstrates qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Delegates work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Ability to read and understand contract requirements.
• Knowledge of botanical and common names of trees and plants.
• Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Able to adjust to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew members and manage equipment each day.
• Plans, assigns, and executes specific tasks in a safe and professional manner to crew and supervise performance.
• Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
• Notify private property owners of presence on property; obtain permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and/or apply herbicides; discuss issues such as obtaining access, power interruption, work to be done, etc. with customer and/or property owner.
• Oversee equipment and material usage, and cleanup. Make sure all equipment and supplies are secure on the truck.
• Keep accurate records of time, equipment, and material used.
• Maintain above standard customer relations.
