BioLife Plasma Services in Washington state seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

You’ll work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations. The role requires EMT-A/EMT-P licensure, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years of clinical experience.

Formación

• Must hold Advanced (EMT-A) and Paramedic (EMT-P) licenses
• Current CPR and AED certifications
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience

Responsabilidades

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage emergencies with Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics within local community.
