Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to assist plasma center operations in WA. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage donor reactions, and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical issues.

The role requires EMT-A and EMT-P licensure, CPR/AED, and state IV therapy requirements, with a background in clinical settings. Located in Lacey, WA, this is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• EMT-A and EMT-P licensure/certification in the state of responsibilities
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further occupational health/ER evaluation; refer to EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics in the local community.
