Air Evac Lifeteam in O’Fallon, MO is seeking a Strike IFR Float Pilot to provide critical medical air transport services. The role requires robust flight experience and rotorcraft qualifications, with emphasis on safety, planning, and regulatory compliance.

The position features a salary range of $102,073–$107,399 with a 15% geo modifier, plus stipends ($12K float, $5K IFR), a $15K sign-on bonus, retention bonuses, on-duty housing, and a 14-on/14-off schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner per Rotorcraft Flight Manual
• Preflight of aircraft prior to shift; document discrepancies to maintenance
• Perform housekeeping duties for crew quarters and hangar area
• Report major malfunctions or injuries to Operations Center
• Ensure compliance with FARs, Air Evac Operations Manual, and applicable regulations

Job Description

We’re hiring a Strike IFR Float Pilot to provide medical air transportation services for Air Evac Lifeteam’s customers. Safety is a key pillar of our services.

Incentives

• Salary range $102,073 - $107,399 including 15% Geo Modifier

• $5K IFR stipend
• $15K Sign on Bonus, subject to eligibility
• Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

• Hourly position (any hours over 40 in a pay week is over time)
• Travel and per diem paid for all shifts
• EC135 AND Bell 429 IFR positions available

Responsibilities

• Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
• Conducts local area orientation as required.
• Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
• Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
• Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
• Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
• Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
• Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
• Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
• Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
• Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• 2000 hours total flight time
• 1500 hours helicopter time
• 1000 hours pilot in command
• 1000 hours turbine
• Minimum of 200 hours night (aided or unaided)
• 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
• Previous HEMS experience or equivalent – preferred
• 1 year experience with any GMR Air company – preferred BH429 or EC135 Experience preferred
• FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate
• FAA Helicopter instrument rating
