Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam is seeking a Rotor-Wing Strike Team Pilot to cover open shifts at bases and assist with startup and standardization of new bases. You will ensure operations comply with FAR Part 135, Air Evac Operations Manual, and state regulations for safe, efficient transport.

Located in O'Fallon, MO, the role requires extensive rotorcraft experience and FAA certifications. Join a mission-driven team delivering urgent care when and where it is needed.

Qualifications

  • Total flight hours: 2000 total, 1500 helicopter, 1000 PIC, 500 turbine hours.
  • Night unaided 100 hours or 50 unaided with 100 aided.
  • Instrument hours 200 (Actual / Hood / SIM).
  • FAA rotorcraft commercial certificate and helicopter rating required.
  • FAA Class II Medical Certificate and regulatory compliance experience.
  • Preferred: 1 year experience with any GMR Air company.

Responsibilities

  • Create pilot information guides including location, frequencies, and procedures.
  • Conduct local area orientation as required.
  • Inform Regional Director of flight planning information updates.
  • Operate aircraft safely with emphasis on Rotorcraft Flight Manual compliance.
  • Monitor weather and forecast changes.
  • Preflight aircraft and log discrepancies with maintenance notification.
  • Report major malfunctions or injuries to Operations Center promptly.
  • Ensure all operations comply with FAA regulations and manuals.
  • Perform housekeeping to keep crew quarters, hanger area neat and presentable.
  • Wash, wax, and clean aircraft with maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Submit paperwork neatly and timely; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Essential Functions/Duties
  • Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
  • Conducts local area orientation as required.
  • Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
  • Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
  • Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
  • Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
  • Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
  • Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
  • Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
  • Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
  • Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
  • Helicopter instrument rating
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • 2,000 Total Flight Hours
  • 1,500 Helicopter Hours
  • 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours
  • 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours
  • 100 hours night unaided, or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours aided
  • 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
  • 230 pound weight limit with flight gear
  • 1 year experience with any GMR Air company – preferred
