The Community College of Rhode Island is seeking an Advising Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Advising department. You will coordinate and host virtual advising drop-in services, assist students with access to advising resources, and perform clerical tasks to keep advising operations running smoothly.

Provide administrative and operational support to the Advising department, including coordinating and hosting virtual advising drop-in services, assisting students with access to advising resources, and performing advising-related clerical and administrative functions.
The Advising Assistant provides responsive customer service to students and supports the efficient delivery of advising services. The position works closely with advising staff to coordinate virtual advising coverage and support departmental operations.
Coordinate and schedule virtual advising drop-in sessions, including establishing session dates, times and logistics.
Host virtual advising drop-in sessions, greet students, manage waiting areas, and facilitate breakout sessions between students and advisors.
Troubleshoot basic Webex connection and access issues and assist students with joining and navigating virtual advising sessions using computers, smartphones, or other devices.
Communicate virtual advising session information, instructions, and access links to students and staff as needed.
Train and provide guidance to staff who host or assist with virtual advising sessions.
Provide exceptional customer service to students, families, and other members of the College community and appropriately connect individuals with advising and other College resources.
Perform advising-related clerical functions including data entry and supporting departmental communications.
Utilize College systems and technology to support advising operations and assist with routine administrative processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Previous office, administrative, or customer service experience
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, faculty, staff, and other members of the College community.
Associate degree
Experience using Webex or similar virtual meeting technology
