Job Summary

This remote position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with fundraising events, donor engagement initiatives, and marketing efforts to support the Advancement & Events Team (75%) and the Marketing, Events, and Church Partnership Team (25%) by performing the following job duties.

  • Coordinates and assists with planning and setup of all major events.
  • Coordinates and assists with all campaign and influencer partnerships and strategies.
  • Assists Church Partnership and Marketing Team with small projects as needed.

Job Duties

Project Management & Coordination:

  • Coordinates tasks and deadlines using Asana for events, campaigns, and projects.
  • Coordinates event timelines and ensures all tasks are assigned and completed.
  • Contributes creative ideas for event programming, auction items, and speakers.
  • Coordinates with event vendors (catering, rentals, etc.) and manages contracts and invoices.
  • Sets up and manages Better Unite pages for events; tracking registrations and donations to ensure data accuracy and alignment with revenue.
  • Tracks all event-related expenses alongside the event budget.
  • Tracks in-kind donations and supports outreach efforts for live auction items.

Event Day Operations:

  • Orders and manages event materials, including gifts, printed materials, and specialty items.
  • Leads volunteer efforts, including registration and event day operations.
  • Manages live auction documentation and bidder signatures.
  • Collaborates with external designer to create all marketing materials for all events.
  • Coordinates all print production materials and ensures timely delivery of event collateral.
  • Designs monthly updates and fundraising assets for Church Partnership Team (e.g., flyers, templates).

Post-Event Reporting & Follow-Up:

  • Provides post-event reports with key outcomes and insights.
  • Ensures accurate tracking of pledges and in-kind donations in collaboration with Operations team.
  • Provides timely follow-up with donors to express gratitude, share event outcomes, and provide donation receipts.

Influencer Campaigns & Partnerships:

  • Sets up and manages Better Unite pages for influencer campaigns.
  • Develops campaign resources such as talking points and media kits.
  • Coordinates influencer pitches and brainstorms creative ways to increase involvement.
  • Tracks and reports campaign performance to MarCom and Ops teams.

Social Media Growth & Marketing Strategies:

  • Collaborates with MarCom to provide content related to major events and projects, including social media and email communications.
  • Assists with brainstorming new social media strategies to elevate content creation and grow Africa New Life’s online presence.
  • Monitors social media trends and contributes fresh ideas for engagement.
  • Supports online fundraising campaigns and partnerships to increase visibility and drive donations.
  • Assists with brainstorming and set up for peer-to-peer campaigns.

Donor & Church Communication:

  • Coordinates and sends gifts to VIPs and key partners to strengthen relationships.
  • Assists with strategic planning for donor outreach and church engagement.
  • Assists with creating a monthly fundraising update or newsletters for key churches.
  • Provides a seamless and consistent experience for existing church partners.
  • Engages personal network to support Africa New Life’s mission.
  • Provides support for virtual student visits for some major donors.

General:

  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Two to four year(s) related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with scheduling meetings for other people, running database reports, reviewing and compiling information in Excel is preferred as well as some event planning and donor care. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management (e.g. Asana), graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by email and use scheduling software.

Travel Requirement

This position requires occasional (10-15%) of the position, travel. Travel may include 1-2 times per year for all-staff or department gatherings, 1-3 times per year for major or minor events, some overnight or local travel for Dream Sunday events and a possible trip to Rwanda.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
