Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a skilled Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient care. You will support complex procedures, communicate preliminary findings to physicians, and tailor exams based on medical history and symptoms.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, mentor staff, and participate in QA, research, and continuous education while rotating shifts and locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and /or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or above preferred.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in abdomen, OB/GYN and RVT.
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• BLS required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality, advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Interprets images and communicates preliminary findings to the physician.
• Identifies imaging orders, reviews medical history and symptoms to tailor exams.
• Maintains sterile technique, safety, QA, and participates in accreditation.
